Services & Fees
We provide most of our health services without charge as we work for the NHS. However, some of these services are classed as private, examples of these include; Medicals, Reports and Forms.
Please note, when a GP signs a certificate or completes a report, it’s that professional’s duty that they check the accuracy of such information; this may involve examining the patient’s entire medical records, the cost of work is therefore determined by the time the clinicians takes to undertake the work.
The practice requests a £20.00 deposit for all private work undertaken; the final balance for the report will be advised prior to completion.
There are a number of certificates which GP’s are required to provide free of charge including those required for statutory sick or incapacity benefit. If a patients is off work for seven days or less the GP does not have to provide a sick note. A patient can be refused a note or charged for a private one for illnesses of seven days or less.

Publication of GP Earnings:
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GP’s working to deliver NHS standards to patients at each practice. The average pay for GP’s working in Dr Rashid Ali Surgery in the last financial year was £45,000 before tax and national insurance. This is for one-salaried GP.
